Slab Foundation Repair
Settling slabs, sloped floors, and stair-step brick cracks are the classic signs of slab foundation failure in Georgia's Piedmont clay. We lift and stabilize concrete slab foundations with engineered steel piers — permanent, warrantied, and cleaner than mudjacking.

What slab foundation repair actually is.
Slab foundation repair stabilizes a concrete slab that has settled, cracked, or heaved out of level. In metro Atlanta, the culprit is almost always seasonal movement in expansive Piedmont clay — dry summers shrink the soil, wet winters swell it, and slabs that were poured on marginal fill or poorly drained lots slowly move with it.
Instead of trying to fight the surface soil, we bypass it. Steel push piers or helical piers are driven through the weak upper soil until they hit load-bearing strata or refusal, then the slab is transferred onto the piers and lifted back toward its original elevation. Done correctly, the slab is stabilized permanently and the piers carry the load — not the clay.
Slab Foundation Repair — real Atlanta-area work.

Signs your slab foundation needs repair
- Stair-step cracks in exterior brick or block, especially near corners
- Interior drywall cracks above doorways or where walls meet ceilings
- Doors and windows that suddenly stick, drag, or won't latch
- Sloped or bouncy floors — a marble that rolls across the room
- Gaps between baseboards and the floor, or between crown molding and ceiling
- Visible cracks in the concrete slab or garage floor wider than a nickel
How we stabilize a slab
Steel Push Piers
Driven with hydraulic force to load-bearing strata. Best for heavier masonry and brick homes where the structure's own weight helps set the pier.
Helical Piers
Screw-in piers with helical plates. Ideal for lighter loads, additions, porches, and softer or organic soils common on Atlanta creek lots.
Pressed Concrete Pilings
Stacked concrete cylinders pressed to refusal. Cost-effective in the right soil profile — we use them selectively.
Slab Pier Lifting
Once piers are set, the slab is transferred onto them and controlled hydraulic lift returns it to elevation.

Common questions about slab foundation repair.
How much does slab foundation repair cost in metro Atlanta?+
Most slab foundation repairs in the Atlanta area fall between $4,000 and $18,000, depending on the number of piers, access, and whether interior work is needed. We give you a written estimate at the free inspection — never a pressure quote at the kitchen table.
Are steel push piers or helical piers better for Georgia soils?+
Both work well in Piedmont clay. Push piers are typically used on heavier masonry homes where load can drive the pier to load-bearing strata. Helical piers screw into the ground and are often preferred where soils are softer or on lighter additions. We spec whichever your soil and load actually require.
Will slab repair fix cracked drywall and sticking doors?+
Usually, yes — once the slab is lifted and stabilized, most drywall cracks close up and doors re-hang correctly. Cosmetic drywall touch-up is handled separately after the foundation is stable.
How long does slab foundation repair take?+
A typical Atlanta-area slab repair runs 1–3 days on site. Larger jobs with interior piers can take longer. We work around your schedule and keep the home livable throughout.
